3 Essential Genting Trailblazer Tips
TIP No 1: DRESS FOR PERFORMANCE
Some seasoned Trailblazers will tell you that what you choose to wear to run this race makes a big difference, especially in the jungle. Quick pointers, wear all terrain shoes for better grip and balance. Long pants/tights with long sleeved tops will help minimise cuts while running through the jungle. Also, consider wearing gloves to improve grip on ropes and protect hands while traversing obstacles.
Share tips & exchange your experiences challenging the terrain with others!
Tip No 2: HAVE A GREEN MIND
Going-green this year means we have to think a little harder on the details of organising this event. From the utensils to food packing, water supply, trail & field construction, we try to stick with green friendly options which sometimes have proven to be limited. Going-green can only be truly realised if we have participation & involvement from all runners, runners that we believe are ready to chip in and play a part no matter how small.
HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1)Do not litter, especially not in the jungle trails. Pick up and dispose rubbish into correct recycling bins that will be provided around the event venue.
2)No disposable plastic bottles will be provided or allowed into the jungle trail. We will provide refillable water bottles during the pre-race registration. Make use of water refilling stations before entering and after exiting the jungle trail.
3)Help ensure that our F&B cutlery/utensils are placed back in order after use as no plastic disposable utensils are provided.
4)Get your non-running family members to participate in our Scavenger Hunt and Tree Planting activities scheduled just after the flag-offs on race day. Limited space, so do pre-register with us at our booths.
5)Lastly, adopt a green attitude and heart for the race.
Tip No 3: Know the Run
As with Genting Trailblazer of past years, all participants will need to register for the run, Registration times are 1pm – 6pm, 1st Nov (Sat) at the Kenari Poolside Lounge and 7am – 730am, 2nd Nov (Sun) at the Awana Football Field.
FTAAA has introduced another mandatory requirement for Genting Trailblazer this year. All registered participants must report on race day (2 Nov) at the Awana Football Field Reporting counter. Participants who fail to do so will be disqualified from the race.
We suggest that all participants download & print the Awana Football Field setup sketch* for reference on exact location of relevant tents & counters.
As promised also, the trail this year will be a notch more exciting, all 14kms of it! Download and study our trail map and be better prepared to take on our route. A race briefing will be held at the Kenari Poolside Lounge, 5pm, 1st Nov for those who want to be better prepared.
More info on how to get about in Awana Genting Highlands can be found on www.awana.com.my

What do you think of going green?
My Name is Mud
- Team Trailblazer
- The Genting Trailblazer is an annual a no-holds-barred sporting event that combines the adrenaline rush of adventure racing with the intensity of trail running. Contestants run in teams of two through an unpredictable course over three very different terrains; rugged jungle paths, asphalt stretches and muddy trails. Apart from the challenging natural landscape, teams will also be put through a gruelling man-made obstacle course that features, among other things, a massive mud pond. Staying clean is definitely not an option.

(2) freebie !!!, okay i know Genting was generous to throw in a $50 holiday card, but how come the sponsor from others were so few this time around... ?
like the shower area, very well constructed. good job on that, overall it was an enjoyable challenge run....
hi..just wanna ask.for 1 nite stay tu which hotel yea?
bro,
the idea of download and PRINT the area map is not very good lah..
one can just see the map and remember the location.. or better still, organizer can provide friendly people to guide participants..
after all, we have to GO GREEN .. save the tree!
